Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was the first person to reach a flawless 10 during an Olympic celebration. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci and first became aware of Comaneci at the age of six. Her first competition was in the national junior championships in which she was 13th place in 1969. In the year 1970, she was crowned champion. At her first international event in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she became an overall junior champion. In her first international competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion winning four gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first woman ever to perform a backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in entertainment during her teenage years in which she was a part of a figure skating duo with their twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's career began in entertainment as a teenager. She started her career as a figure skater performing with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows known as Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating that included theatrical performances.
