Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most acclaimed actors. Her fame is for her strong character but equally vulnerable. Her father was a renowned playwright. However, she was raised as a single child by a single mom who was a nurse. Through the summer months and with her father Linney was able to develop a passion for theater. She eventually studied acting first at Brown University then at Juilliard School. The actress began her Broadway career soon after completing her degree after which she made her TV debut in the next year. Over the past few years she has appeared in a variety of films, television productions as well as stage productions. Over the course of her career, she won several awards, among them the two Golden Globe Awards. Although she has received numerous awards, she still loves theatre and has appeared on both screen and stage.
