April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started piano and guitar lessons in 7th grade which sparked the interest of her. April's very first song was called Different. She wrote it when she was 12 years old. At the age of 14 April spent a lot of her day writing and practicing songs. Over the next few months, she started taking writing trips along with her father on trips to LA in addition to NY. April featured other topics in her song, Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt issues like peer pressure, disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer, as well as having partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia she has gained an impressive following. She was not born having a left-handed hand, which is what makes her who she is. However, that's not the whole story. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her disability. It also doesn't insist on the issue. The profile is a statement. That we all contain multitudes of identities and that we're much more than our physical selves. I don't want that to be the only thing that defines me. I don't want to be a disability influencer where that's all I speak about since there are so many other things about me Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. However, it doesn't affect my day-to-day life. I continue to do the things I normally would and have adapted to my disability. However, it's a component of me so I think it's essential to discuss. Lockhart who is an source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting, is on a long journey to achieve this. However, she admits to going through periods of feeling insecure about her body and feeling uncomfortable wearing some clothing types which exposed her arms. Today, she wears what she's comfortable in and post photos in those outfits to social media with pride. To her, self-love was a long trip. This is true for everyone regardless of levels of anxiety.
